Yorkdale Missionary Baptist Church

Client: Yorkdale Missionary Baptist Church

Industry: Nonprofit/Religious Organization

Services: Brand Identity + Website Development

Yorkdale Missionary Baptist Church has been standing in Houston since 1963. Over 60 years later, the church has had only two pastors and still holds a tight-knit congregation of around 50 members. It's a family-oriented church that has done things well for decades. Now, as they set their sights on growth, they needed a brand and website that reflected everything they already are.

THE CHALLENGE

For over a decade, Yorkdale had no website and no defined visual identity. No logo, no color story, no digital touchpoint for members or newcomers. The challenge wasn't just building a site. It was building a brand strong enough to show off who Yorkdale is, attract new members, and give current members a reason to stay engaged, all in a city full of large, high-production ministries.

The site also needed to work as a central hub for the congregation: watching services online, giving, finding events, submitting prayer requests.

THE APPROACH

We started with a mini brand: a logo and color palette built around Yorkdale's identity, not a generic church aesthetic. Crimson represents the blood of Jesus, cream represents purity, and both echo the interior of the church itself, so the brand feels like an extension of the physical space members already know.

For the site, the strategy was to spotlight what makes Yorkdale special: a close, family-oriented community with deep roots and real staying power. The design tells the full story of who they are, where they came from, and where they're headed.

Functionally, the site was built as a hub, not just a homepage. Members can:

- Watch services online

- Give tithes and offerings

- Browse upcoming events

- Submit prayer requests

All optimized across mobile, tablet, and desktop.

THE OUTCOME

The brand and site read as an honest reflection of the church itself: intimate, rooted, family-first. Yorkdale now has a digital front door that matches the strength of what they've built over 63 years, one designed to nurture the members already there and give Houston newcomers a real reason to plant roots.
